C as in Charlie in the Noho area has quickly become a go-to spot for fans of bold, flavorful Korean cuisine with a modern twist. The menu is a masterful blend of traditional Korean flavors and inventive techniques. As a party of four we essentially asked for one of everything. Pair your meal with one of their soju-based cocktails or opt for the expertly curated selection of Korean beers.

The Golden Swan: A West Village Treasure

It doesn’t take much convincing to embrace the irresistible charm of the West Village, and The Golden Swan only amplifies its allure. Located on the former site of the beloved Spotted Pig, this inviting venue combines cozy sophistication with impeccable attention to detail.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by perfectly dimmed ambient lighting and thoughtfully designed dining spaces. Whether you’re seeking an intimate moment or a vibrant scene, The Golden Swan has something for everyone. For a romantic evening, couples can request the “quiet room” on the second level—ask for Table 60 for a secluded, just-the-two-of-you vibe. Prefer to be part of the action? The second-floor main dining area strikes the ideal balance between social energy and elegance.

The menu, crafted with seasonal ingredients, offers innovative takes on classic dishes that deliver on both flavor and presentation. Highlights from our visit included the house-made tagliolini with Burgundy truffle, truffle fondue, and chives; the beautifully cooked crescent duck; and the indulgent Brixton burger.

Hoexters (UES): Located in the heart of the Upper East Side, Hoexters is a delightful revival of a 1970s neighborhood favorite. This Brasserie style venue exudes old world charm with its warm, cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu pays homage to classic American bistro fare, featuring comforting dishes like French onion soup. We can’t rave enough about the classic double smash burger—perfectly crisped edges and juicy layers make it a must-try. But the true showstopper of the evening? The pork Milanese, a golden masterpiece that stole the spotlight with every bite.

Jean’s: in the heart of NoHo, Jean’s is the ultimate spot for those who love a dining experience that’s as much about the scene as it is about the food. With a sultry, dimly lit ambiance, and a crowd that looks straight out of a fashion editorial, this hotspot is where the city’s tastemakers come to see and be seen.

Of course, the menu holds its own against the stylish backdrop with some solid options. The steak tartare is a standout—expertly seasoned and paired with crispy chips, it’s the perfect bite to kick off the night. The burger is another must-order, a decadent take on a classic with a rich, juicy patty nestled between a perfectly toasted bun. Pair it with a side of crispy fries and a martini, and you’ve got a meal worthy of Jean’s effortlessly cool vibe.

With its rising popularity, Jean’s has developed a slight air of exclusivity that can sometimes feel unwelcoming. Despite an 8:30 PM reservation, our table wasn’t ready until after 9 PM, and once seated, the meal felt hurried. As the night progressed, both the main dining room and lower level transformed into separate club-like scenes, and all tables were asked—rather forcefully—to relocate to the bar to make space for the late-night crowd. While this adds to the venue’s high-energy appeal, it can make for a less relaxed dining experience.
