Tarrytown

My Tokyo: perfectly situated on Main Street in Tarrytown, My Tokyo is a Japanese “Bistro” that has truly captured the essence of casual sophistication. Created by culinary expert Harry Cha, a chef with training from the prestigious Culinary Institute, this hidden gem is the perfect setting for an intimate date night or a laid-back catch-up with friends. The menu effortlessly balances traditional staples like sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls with more unique offerings like rice bowls, salads, and flavorful Japanese stir fry. It’s no wonder My Tokyo has quickly become a local favorite.

While the cozy space adds to its charm, reservations are essential to ensure you don’t miss out. Another tip? This is a BYOB spot, so if you forget your sake, the liquor store just across the street has you covered with a selection curated for such occasions.

Whether you’re a sushi lover or just exploring, My Tokyo offers a memorable experience in the heart of Tarrytown.

Tarry Tavern: A cozy and sophisticated spot that brings together the charm of a classic tavern with a touch of fine dining. Known for its warm, inviting atmosphere, Tarry Tavern has become a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike looking to enjoy high-quality American cuisine with a focus on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. At the time of this update an unfortunate fire did cause the Tarry Tavern to close and as fundraisers are underway, we are hopeful that a reopening of this establishment will come in the near future. Please check the venues website for any updates on its reopening. When it does reopen our go to has always been the Hudson Valley Chicken Liver Mousse which is a must!

Sleepy Hollow

Bridgeview Tavern: Sleepy Hollow’s Best-Kept Burger Secret! A cozy, no-frills gastropub with one of the best burger lineups in the Hudson Valley. Whether you go for the Hudson Valley Bison Burger (lean, flavorful, and topped with melty cheddar) or the classic Smokehouse Burger (crispy bacon, smoky BBQ sauce, and a pile of onion straws), you’re in for a serious treat.

Dobbs Ferry

Cookery: This Italian gastropub is a standout on our list of favorites. Chef David DiBari consistently delivers a menu that balances classic staples with creative rotating specials. Whether you’re stopping in for brunch or dinner, every dish impresses. Start with must-try bites like the duck liver cannolis, meatballs, and house-made mozzarella. Even among our Italian companions, the pasta dishes never fail to earn high praise. The warm, inviting ambiance makes it a great spot for groups, though the acoustics can lead to a lively dining experience—perfect for a vibrant evening, but not ideal for quieter, more intimate conversations. Reservations are highly recommended!

The Parlor: This beloved pizzeria in Dobbs Ferry, NY, is known for its creative, wood-fired pizzas and energetic vibe. Nestled along the scenic Hudson, this rustic-chic eatery has carved out a name for itself by blending traditional pizza-making with bold, modern flavors. In addition to a simple Margherita which is done to perfection, the brussels sprouts with rice krispies, chili honey and parmesan are a must. While the venue is conveniently located, the interior design remains lacking and could be enhanced to elevate the experience.

Briarcliff

Guadalajara: We were fortunate to discover this venue thanks to a serendipitous recommendation from a neighbor. With traditional Mexican décor in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, the spacious setting was a pleasant surprise. The highlight, however, is the food. Offering a fresh, lighter take on Mexican classics, it truly delivers. Don’t miss the house-made chips and the tableside-prepared guacamole—absolute must-haves.

Chappaqua

Bia American Kitchen and Bar: Bia American Kitchen & Bar delivers a perfect blend of elevated comfort food, craft cocktails, and a stylish yet inviting ambiance. Whether you’re stopping by for a laid-back brunch, a lively dinner, or a well-crafted drink at the bar, Bia exudes a warm, neighborhood feel with a touch of city sophistication. While we only had the opportunity to have brunch here, breakfast items were clean, fresh and well prepared and a grilled chicken bowl was the perfect solution to a more glutinous weekend.

Irvington

Hudson Prime Steakhouse: Tucked just off of Main Street, this steakhouse strikes the perfect balance between timeless tradition and understated sophistication. While the décor might benefit from a modern update, the venue has an authentic charm that draws a polished yet laid-back Irvington crowd. With a cute outdoor seating area and consistently exceptional service, it’s the kind of place where you can’t go wrong. The steaks, as you’d expect, are a cut above, but the menu is also surprisingly versatile—perfect for accommodating pescatarian dining companions with a variety of fresh seafood options. If you are hungry the mini tomato soup sampler with grilled cheese is delicious! This spot is a must-visit for those who crave both comfort and quality.

MP Taverna is a crowd-pleaser, even for the pickiest eaters. Every dish is expertly crafted, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Some of our must-try favorites include the combination dip starter, bursting with Mediterranean flavors, and the classic Greek salad, always fresh and vibrant. Mima Vinoteca: Nestled on Main Street, this venue offers a charming ambiance with ideal mood lighting and decent acoustics, making it a great spot for a cozy date night or an intimate gathering with friends. The inviting bar, located in the heart of the dining area, adds to the relaxed atmosphere. While the service is generally satisfactory, it falls short in terms of efficiency and friendliness. The menu is somewhat inconsistent, with dishes ranging from average to excellent, depending on your choice. The standout dish of our evening was the Calamarata E Salsiccia—definitely worth a try!

White Plains

O-Mandarin: If you’re driving through Westchester and think real-deal Chinese food is strictly a city thing—think again. Nestled just off a nondescript stretch of Central Ave in White Plains, O-Mandarin is quietly serving some of the bold, soul-satisfying dishes. And trust me, once you've tasted their dumplings, there’s no going back.

Let’s start with the steamed and soup dumplings—pillowy, delicate, and dangerously addictive. These aren't your sad takeout versions; they’re legit. The soup dumplings burst with rich, savory broth and melt-in-your-mouth pork. Slurp with caution, but definitely slurp.

Then there's the tofu clay pot with vegetables. It arrives at your table still bubbling like it just walked off a volcano, the tofu silky and seared just right, soaking up an umami-packed sauce you’ll want to eat by the spoonful. The medley of vegetables keeps it vibrant and fresh—comfort food with a kick of finesse.

O-Mandarin doesn’t scream trendy, but that’s the charm.
