Boracay, Philippines 2019

How we got there: From Hong Kong international we connected to Manila using Cebu Pacific and had a connection from Manila to Boracay also with Cebu Pacific.Insiders tip: leave an abundance of connection time as the last flight to Boracay is around 3pm and delays were abundant. We almost missed the last flight.Once you land in Boracay utilize your hotels connections program to ensure that someone is waiting for you at the airport as it is all a drive and then boat connection to the island.[wpvideo GGbniKJ6 ]Where we stayed: As Boracay had recently re-opened after a 6 month closure our initial hotel choice could not confirm an certificate of occupancy. We ended up finding the Crimson Hotel Boracay.https://crimsonhotel.com/boracay/A relatively new hotel the Crimson was located at a new station station 0) further away from the chaos of station 1,2 and 3. The hotel is beautiful. Architecturally it is modern but classy and lights up at night. The staff is beyond welcoming raising their hands to their hearts to greet you no matter how many times you pass. Unlike some of the other hotels the Crimson has a private quiet beachfront that is beautiful. Enjoy a large master infinity pool or a smaller couples pool. A children's pool area is also situated just steps from the beach. Breakfast was served in a wonderful breakfast buffet and for dinner there were three options. Two very expensive dining experience and a dinner buffet. In our opinion the two restaraunts were way over priced. As with any new development there are a few kinks to work out but overall I would most certainly come back here.[wpvideo fZJl6dQZ ][wpvideo n8OOczPx ][wpvideo lM8INu4w ][wpvideo sX04HRGt ][wpvideo E1OCjwNg ]What we did:Since we were staying at a spectacular hotel most of our days were spent lounging beachside and soaking up some sunshine. The Center of town or D-mall area is a string of tightly packed shops and restaurants. My own take is that it's all just a bit trashy. We did have dinner at a place called Pamana that had more local cuisine and interesting artwork to say the least. The traditional pancit was one of the best our group had. Decent but nothing to write home about was an American cafe/diner fusion type venue called Lemoni.Other things to do:Foot massage parlors abound. Those in our group who tried the 30 minute foot massage at Footzee really enjoyed it.Overall thoughts about Boracay: The water is stunning and the service at the higher end resorts is phenomenal. The crimson hotel made that leg of our trip a true joy. The town itself and other activities were in our opinion underwhelming.
